For the third edition of its Maritime Festival, which took place from the 17th to the 19th of June, the Senglea Local Council chose to highlight the historical bonds between Malta and France.

On the 18th of June, the day was opened by the French ambassador Daniel Rondeau, who welcomed at the Macina several lecturers who reminded the history between the two countries. At the same time, an exhibition was offered, with multiple documents showing the special relation between them.
The rear-admiral François Bellec, historian of the sea and shipping, writer, painter and president of the Académie de Marine, accepted to share his knowledge of Maltese history and French sailing with distinghed Maltese specialists.
